Texas two card hold'em is also known as 7 card holdem poker,
holdem poker, two card holdem, texas holdem, and texas 7 card.
Betting:
during the progress of the hand, you
will have times when you think you have the winning hand, only to see that change
with the next card dealt (face up of course, the only two down you get are at the
beginning).
Winning Hands playing Texas two card holdem Checking can sometimes
be the wise move when you're sitting on a great hand. Let one of the others bet for
you on the first round, call; and then if the majorit of the table has not folded
away; then on the next round of bets; you can bet or if someone bets before
you; raise them.
Bluffing can be done effectively in a
number of ways.
One way of bluffing that I sometimes use is if the betting around the table has not
led me to believe that anyone can complete the obvious straight showing in the middle of
the table. When that happens you can sometimes bet hard and scare off the other
players. It is wise to use the afore mentioned with a hand of some kind (ie = a pair
of jacks).
I like raising on the bet that comes just after the
flop (when the first 3 cards are put face up on the table) if I have a
weak pair for a hand, say a king, eight, and six are thrown on
the flop, and I hold an eight/nine, I will raise to
scare off players that could potentially catch a higher card during the
course of the next two cards to be placed face up on the table,
(known as "the turn" and "the river"). If nothing else,
it usually buys me a free look at my next card because everybody is
checking when they expect me to bet. Its kind of an "invest $5 extra
now to avoid the charge of $10 on the next round of bets" thing.
In nolimit play:
Using the "allin" is effective if
done so early on before the flop . a This bluff works well when players at the table
face the possibility of losing their entire bank roll if they challenge you.
Finishing the hand:
I've won a lot of hands simply by staying in
the game to the end. I see many players stay in all the way to the last card and
then fold. That is only adviseable if you're going for a straight or flush and
didn't get it.
Don't believe that someone has a flush just because there are 3 or even 4 same suit
cards showing. It only costs a small amount to stay in (usually) and when that is
the case, spend the extra few bucks to give yourself a chance at winning the pot.
Note: make sure there is enough money in the pot to make it worth the risk.
