Lady Luck doesn't like
gamblers that are grumpy, nasty, impatient, or any other likewise socially unacceptable
attitude towards fellow mankind.
How often have you been playing at a table and doing better than average, and had
someone walk up and enter "midshoe"? ( the practice of entering a
blackjack game at any time except right after the cards have been shuffled for a fresh
round, when none of the cards have yet been dealt).
And then see the table catch a bad run and suddenly half the table is "staring &
glaring" ( or making more apparent gestures / remarks); towards the
player that just interrupted the flow of the game. Regardless of whether there has
been a discourtesy appropriated on the table; or not; as soon as I see the
slightest hint of any kind of negativity.... I leave as soon as I lose my
next hand.
Think about it. How often do you see a table that is winning... be
laughing and carrying on amongst themselves like they were old friends that could never do
the other enough harm to warrant an ill spoken word or thought in the other's direction.
And this same table hardly even notices when another player join s the game, They
are too busy basking in an aurora of good will and stimulating, jovial
correspondence, to be bothered about whether the flow of cards has changed directly
because another chair was filled at their table.
*Of
course, everybody notices when they begin to lose more than win,......
but that time comes at some point no matter what; Lady Luck only visits a short time
at best.
But how
often do you see a player blame a losing hand / streak on the closest and easiest
thing to blame? Which in this case would be the shoe getting
"interrupted". And I believe once those insinuations surface, Lady
Luck is already making bedroom eyes at a table across the room.
